The Noor Al-Huda Initiative is a flagship educational and developmental project launched by Basiqat Charity Foundation in Kano State, Nigeria.
Its purpose is to educate children who have not yet received primary education (up to age 12) — both boys and girls — by providing them with a solid academic foundation, essential life skills, and values-based learning that prepare them to become capable, confident, and contributing members of society.

This initiative directly supports Basiqat’s strategic goal of “empowering target groups to access quality education that promotes innovation and future-ready skills.”

To reduce the learning gap and build a generation of educated, ethical, and innovative children in Nigeria by ensuring access to inclusive, quality, and sustainable early education — especially in underserved and rural communities.

🏫 About the Project

Although primary education in Nigeria is theoretically free and compulsory, reality reveals serious gaps — millions of children remain out of school, and those enrolled often receive low-quality education.
According to UNICEF, over 10.5 million children aged 5–14 are not in school, including nearly 1 million children in Kano State alone.

The Noor Al-Huda Initiative provides an immediate and long-term response to this crisis through structured programs focused on:

• Providing basic education to out-of-school children up to age 12.

• Training teachers in early education methods and digital learning tools.

• Equipping classrooms with books, furniture, and modern educational materials.

• Empowering families and communities to value education and encourage school attendance.

• Integrating digital learning platforms that reach children in remote areas.

Project Scope

📍 Location: Kano State, Northern Nigeria
🎯 Target Group: Out-of-school children (boys & girls) up to age 12
👨👩👧 Beneficiaries: 700–1,000 children annually
🏫 Medium-Term Goal: Educate and empower 2,000–3,000 children per year within three years.

Core Components

1. Enrollment & Access: Identify and register children who have never attended school.

2. Curriculum Development: Design engaging and age-appropriate educational materials.

3. Teacher Training: Train 50+ teachers in early learning and active teaching methods.

4. Community Empowerment: Conduct awareness sessions for 200+ families.

5. Classroom Infrastructure: Set up 30–35 well-equipped learning centers.

6. Digital Education Platform: Launch a digital learning system for children and parents.

7. Impact Evaluation: Measure children’s academic and social progress (≥60% improvement).

Expected Impact
